Mercedes-AMG has officially revealed that its next-generation GT3 is in development, using the Concept AMG GT Track Sport as its technical foundation. The same platform also underpins the forthcoming Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series, with both vehicles being developed in parallel from the same base.

Testing underway

Prototype testing began in October 2025 across Immendingen, Bilster Berg, Portimão and Monteblanco. Development has now progressed to the Nürburgring-Nordschleife. The camouflaged prototype runs red accents, confirmed as the GT3’s colour identity within the Mercedes‑AMG Motorsport scheme going forward.

Affalterbach Racing

A significant structural shift accompanies the new car. Development is being led by Affalterbach Racing GmbH, a newly established wholly-owned AMG subsidiary that effectively brings customer racing in-house for the first time. The company takes over from HWA AG, which had been the backbone of AMG’s GT racing programme since 2010 — responsible for every car from the SLS AMG GT3 through to the current Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo and its derivatives.
