AO Racing announced Thursday they will be entering their Pink dino-liveried Porsche in the upcoming Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach. AO is the second GTD PRO team, after Pfaff Motorsports, to announce a one-off GTD appearance for the race.
To fulfil the requirements of having a Bronze or Silver graded driver for GTD, AO Racing is calling on the services of Mikkel Pederson. The 29-year-old Dane will make his IMSA debut in Long Beach. Although Pederson is new to American sportscar fans, he is well-known in global sportscar circles. His CV includes GT World Challenge Europe and the FIA World Endurance Championship, where he’s a multi-race winner. Full-season driver Harry King will partner Pederson in the one-off effort.
Indeed, King and “Roxy” look to keep the positive momentum going for AO after a runner up in GTD PRO at Sebring. Additionally, AO are the defending winners of GTD at Long Beach. Laurens Vanthoor and Jonny Edgar piloted “Rexy” to victory last April. No pressure, Roxy…
The 100-Minute sprint, the third meeting for the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship in 2026, takes place on Saturday, April 18. Green flag set for 1:05pm local time.
