Thomas Preining will join Lionspeed GP for the first time for the 2026 GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup campaign. After fielding Bronze entries only in the past two seasons, the team now joins the fight for the overall title.
Lionspeed is entering the Pro Category of the GTWCE, widely regarded as one of the most competitive GT3 championships in the world. Alongside its first Pro entry, Preining will complete an impressive line-up of Bastian Buus and Ricardo Feller on the #80 Porsche 911 GT3 R.
Two Lionspeed entries
Preining arrives as one of the sport’s top GT drivers. He won the DTM title in 2023 – the first for a Porsche driver – and previously competed in both WEC and IMSA. The Austrian driver made his first appearance in GTWCE in 2020, with GPX Racing, and has raced in the championship every year since.

Buus already is a long-time member of Lionspeed. He debuted in the championship in 2024 and became Bronze Cup vice-champion in the Sprint Cup in 2025. Feller adds a lot of experience and impressive feats to that, including a GTWCE and ADAC GT Masters title.
The three drivers are also part of Porsche’s DTM line-up this year. GT REPORT recently sat down with Buus, who is eager to finally get started in DTM after not being able to debut in the championship in 2025.
Lionspeed will also field a second car in the Bronze Cup, maintaining its presence in the class where it previously found successes, as it expands its ambitions to challenge for overall honours in 2026.
Recently, Lionspeed announced their 24H Nürburgring line-up as well.
