‘Zetti’ returned today to the Nürburgring for the first time since 2019 — and not tucked away in a historic class of the ADAC RAVENOL Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie, but right where it belongs: in SP9, back among the modern GT3 machinery.
Ahead of this weekend’s NLS3, Peter Posavac’s fan-driven revival of the iconic V8-powered machine finally hit the Nordschleife again, run by Koopman Racing as part of its build-up to the Nürburgring 24 Hours. Silent at this level for years, the BMW Z4 GT3 is now back roaring through the Eifel — a rare sight in today’s GT3 era.
For more on the story behind the project, don’t miss our interview with Hein Koopman on bringing the car back to life. And with Saugmotoren Motorsport also preparing a second Z4 entry, the 2026 season is shaping up to be an unexpected revival for one of the Nordschleife’s most beloved GT3 cars.
