PB Racing powered by JMH took the opening GT Cup 100 victory at Donington Park, while SVG Motorsport topped the GTA class to lead the overall championship at the series’ opening weekend of 2026.
The opening day of the GT Cup season also saw a new winner, with Team Brit taking their first victory in the 50 minute pit stop race.
Saturday
A damp qualifying session saw Triple M Motorsport secure pole position in the GTC class Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo Evo after a superb lap from Charlie Digby beat the two GT3 entries of Team Brit and PB Racing.
Saturday’s race was the first of two endurance races across the weekend, with the shorter 50 minute pit stop race up first.
Jamie Falvey started the race for Team Brit in second place and almost immediately took the lead. As fellow GT3 competitors PB Racing battled for second, Falvey pulled clear at the front and built a lead of around 25 seconds heading into the pit stop phase at the halfway mark.

In the end, Falvey and Paul Fullick secured the win in their first race in the championship in their BMW M4 GT3. Peter Erceg, racing solo on the opening day, recovered to second place.
Triple M Motorsport finished third overall and first in the GTC class. SB Race Engineering led the way in the GTO class. Innovation Racing overcame a five second track limits penalty to claim GTH honours, while Raceworks Motorsport secured a debut win in the GTA class.
Sunday
Unlike the previous day, drivers enjoyed a dry qualifying session.
Team Brit’s Falvey maintained the pace shown on Saturday, putting his BMW on pole for the 100 minute race in the afternoon. Meanwhile, SVG Motorsport achieved a double pole in GTA and GTH, while Triple M Motorsport again led the way in the GTC class.
The first 100 minute race of the 2026 GT Cup season did not disappoint. Rain between qualifying and the race meant teams had to start on wet tyres.
Falvey made a strong start and defended well to retain the lead in the challenging conditions.
The opening stint focused on maintaining track position as the surface began to dry. When the pit stop window opened, most teams played it safe and stayed on wet tyres, except for SVG Motorsport. They opted to switch to slicks as Ian Astley took over from Neil Wallace in the #24 BMW M4 GT4.
Although their gamble initially looked to be paying off, a late safety car halted their progress and allowed rivals to switch tyres as well.
Marcus Clutton, who had taken over from Erceg in the #9 Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO2, delivered an outstanding performance. He set a blistering pace, passed the leading Team Brit car, and went on to win the opening round of the season.
JMH Automotive secured a double podium, with their #63 Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo Evo driven by Frank Morris and James Pickford finishing third overall and leading the GTC class.

SBO Engineering finished fourth and topped GTO, while SVG Motorsport converted their pole positions into wins in both GTH and GTA. As a result, they now lead the overall championship with Astley and Wallace, and also share the lead in the teams championship with JMH.
The GT Cup Championship returns on May 16 to 17 at the Norfolk circuit of Snetterton 300.
