Forsetti Motorsport, the Norwich-based Aston Martin partner team, has unveiled its formidable two-car lineup for the highly anticipated British GT Championship 2024 season. The team will be showcasing the sleek new Aston Martin GT4 platform in their inaugural campaign.
Having recently taken delivery of Aston Martin’s latest GT4 model, Forsetti Motorsport wasted no time in getting acquainted with the cutting-edge machinery. They’ve been rigorously testing the new car at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia as part of their meticulous preparation for the upcoming challenges in the British GT series.
Despite being a relatively young entrant into the motorsport scene, Forsetti Motorsport has assembled a powerhouse team comprising individuals with extensive experience across prestigious racing events like IMSA, WEC, ELMS, and even Formula 1. Their collective expertise underscores the team’s ambitious goal of clinching both the GT4 PRO/AM and overall GT4 titles in their debut season.
The team’s lineup comprises two distinct pairings. The Silver/Silver class car will see the youthful partnership of Mikey Porter and Jamie Day behind the wheel. With an impressive track record in the GT4 Winter Series Championship, where they’ve maintained a flawless podium streak and seized a commanding lead in both the drivers’ and teams’ standings, Porter and Day are poised to make waves in British GT history.
Expressing his enthusiasm, Mikey Porter stated, “The step up to British GT is one I’ve been working towards for a long time. I’m really looking forward to kicking off the season later this year.” His sentiments were echoed by Jamie Day, who added, “I know we have what it takes to compete for wins and the overall title, and I can’t wait to get started.”
Meanwhile, the team’s PRO/AM entry will be manned by the seasoned duo of Marc Warren and William Orton. Boasting impressive accolades from their stints in the Ginetta GT Academy and the Porsche Sprint Challenge, Warren and Orton represent a formidable force ready to tackle the challenges of endurance racing in British GT.
Marc Warren expressed his eagerness, saying, “Competing in British GT has been a long-held ambition.” He highlighted the exceptional camaraderie within the team and his excitement at partnering with the rapid William Orton. In agreement, Orton remarked, “The team has an incredible mission, and I’m excited to play my part.”
With a blend of seasoned expertise and youthful vigor, Forsetti Motorsport is poised to make a bold statement in the British GT Championship, backed by their unwavering determination and the formidable Aston Martin GT4 machinery.
