The opening round of the 2026 ADAC RAVENOL Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie (NLS) season has been cancelled after near-freezing temperatures and wet snow made conditions at the Nürburgring undriveable.

Teams had been out testing on Friday, but the situation deteriorated overnight. By Saturday morning, qualifying was already delayed as multiple outfits — including Winward Racing — packed up and headed home. Organisers ultimately pulled the plug on the event entirely on the advice of tyre manufacturers, citing safety concerns.

The 2026 season now gets underway next weekend with the 58. ADAC Barbarossapreis on 21 March. The race is already generating significant attention, with Max Verstappen scheduled to make his first Nürburgring appearance of the year behind the wheel of the Winward Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3, in preparation for the 24 Hours of the Nürburgring.
