In a dramatic post-race development, the #3 Mercedes-AMG Team Verstappen Racing entry of Max Verstappen, Daniel Juncadella and Jules Gounon has been disqualified from NLS2, handing the ADAC RAVENOL Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie (NLS) victory to the #99 Rowe Racing BMW.

The decision was issued by the race stewards following a technical report, confirming a breach of the series’ tyre regulations.

According to the official ruling, the #3 Mercedes-AMG used 28 tyres during the event, exceeding the permitted tyre allocation.

As a result, the car has been excluded from the race classification.

Winward Racing has confirmed that a mistake led to the tyre rule breach. “The disqualification hurts. Unfortunately, a mistake was made within the team that forced race control to retroactively disqualify the winning car,” said Team Principal Christian Hohenadel. “For us, this was our first outing as a Mercedes-AMG Performance team on the Nürburgring Nordschleife. I would like to apologize to everyone who was rooting for us. We will now thoroughly analyse the day, meticulously prepare for the remaining races, and work toward the ADAC RAVENOL 24h Nürburgring with full concentration.”

This promotes the #99 BMW M4 GT3 EVO of Dan Harper and Jordan Pepper to victory, with the #44 Falken Motorsports Porsche and #48 LOSCH Motorsport Porsche completing the revised podium.

The updated result remains provisional and subject to any potential appeal.
