The FIA announced Tuesday that Michelin and Goodyear will remain as tire suppliers for the World Endurance Championship (WEC). This comes after a confirmation vote by the World Motor Sport Council. The new tender will now see the brands supply the grid through the 2032 season.
Michelin will continue as supplier for the Hypercar class. The French tire manufacturer has been involved with the modern WEC since Day 1 supplying tires to the top class on an exclusive basis. This can only be good news for the Hypercar platform. During the Le Mans weekend back in June, the Automobile Club de L’Ouest (ACO) confirmed the new Hypercar tech rules for 2030. Now that the tires are confirmed, it should make for solid continuity upon entering the next era of prototype racing.

Goodyear renews as supplier for the LMGT3 class. Goodyear’s relationship with WEC dates back to the 2019-20 season. After supplying a few LMP2 teams, they had received the class’ tire tender for 2021. Following the removal of LMP2 and LMGT3 replaced GTE for 2024, Goodyear made the shift to the GT3 category as their supplier. This is the second big deal for Goodyear in the last three months. It was only in June the ACO had announced Goodyear’s tire supplier tender for 2027-29. Surely Goodyear knows they will be on the world stage in sportscar racing for the forseeable future.
