A third Ferrari 488 Challenge Evo has been confirmed in the GT Cup class for the upcoming season of the Italian GT Championship with Maurizio Pitorri and rookie Gianluigi Simonelli set to be behind the wheel of Team Best Lap’s prancing horse.

The Rieti-based team is now set for a two car GT Cup campaign after having recently announced a Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo for drivers Max Mugelli and Lorenzo Pegoraro.

At the latest count, nine cars will take part in the GT Cup Sprint series. In addition to the three Ferraris, there will be the same number of Porsches and Lamborghinis, which will make for an interesting season in the class reserved for single-make championship cars.
