On the damp track, Max Hesse in the #44 BMW Junior Team M6 GT3 was the first to set a competitive lap time. However, as the sun was rising over the Eifel, the tarmac began to dry, allowing for a dash for pole in the last 15 minutes of the session.
As the time wound down, Alessio Picariello set the #4 Falken Motorsports Porsche 991.2 GT3R on top of the charts with a lap of 8m31.240s. The Belgian’s time remained unbeaten.
Completing the front-row sweep was Dennis Olsen aboard the #3 Falken Porsche, lapping around the Nordschleife in 8m32.624s.
After topping the charts halfway into the session, Mattia Drudi gave it another go in his #24 Lionspeed by Car Collection Motorsport Audi R8 LMS GT3 near the end, improving to 8m34.311s for a second row start alongside Moritz Kranz in the #9 GetSpeed Mercedes-AMG GT3.
Row three is occupied by the #44 BMW Junior Team and #911 Manthey Racing Porsche 991.2 GT3R.
