Last weekend marked the start of the 2023 Ultimate Cup Series, with the first round taking place at Circuit Paul Ricard in France. This year is also the 5th anniversary of the championship, which features races across France and Spain. One of the highlights of the calendar will be the 1st Grand Prix de Mirecourt in September, which will take place at a brand new circuit in the east of France. The championship will end with the Super Finale at Circuit du Castellet in November. The other rounds will be held at Navarra, Hockenheimring and Magny-Cours.

SR&R Ferrari 488 GT3 dominates Sprint GT-Touring Challenge in Ultimate Cup Series at Circuit Paul Ricard

30 cars were on the grid for the first three races of the 2023 Sprint GT-Touring Challenge. Amaury Bonduel and his Lamborghini Super Trofeo No.28 of BDR Competition/Grupo Prom dominated the qualifying but was penalized due to silver categorization.

The SR&R team Ferrari 488 GT3 won all three races, with Lorenzo Bontempelli and Kang Ling each winning a short race of 25 minutes and combining for a victory in the long race of 50 minutes.

Visiom Racing won season opener of Endurance GT-Touring Challenge 2023

After securing pole position, defending champions Hallyday, Pagny, and Bouvet dominated the 4-hour race with their Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo. They led for 95 out of 106 laps, leaving their competitors more than a lap behind.

In the Porsche Cup category, the Martinet by Alméras Porsche No. 94 started in pole position but had a difficult start. It was eventually the Mézard family and Alessandro Ghiretti from Porsche No. 95 who claimed victory, ahead of the Italian team GDL67 Racing. The Ligier JS2 R No. 42/ANS Motorsport won in the C4B category, while the BMW M4 GT4 No. 17/L’Espace Bienvenue took the victory in the C4A category.
