Laurens Vanthoor couldn’t hang on to the lead in the VLN season opener when with ten minutes to go Patrick Pilet in the Manthey Porsche got a little too close for comfort. The Belgium forced himself into an overtake that proved too risky. As Vanthoor’s Falken Porsche crashed into the guardrail, Pilet took over at the head of the field and completed the remaining minutes for the first win of the season.
