Fabian Schiller put the #23 GetSpeed Performance Mercedes-AMG GT3 on pole position in a rainy qualifying for the VLN Nürburgring Endurance Series 43. RCM DMV Grenzlandrennen. The young German was one of the early pace setters and doubled down on his initial speed in the final minutes of the session when he set a pole lap of 9:18.357.
Lining up second on the grid will be the #19 KCMG Porsche 991.2 GT3R earning its starting position thanks to a final quick lap by Dennis Olsen. The former Porsche Junior was over 5 seconds slower than Schiller, driving a lap of 9:23.802.
Nick Catsburg brought the all-Gelre line-up of himself and Stef Dusseldorp to third place in the #99 Rowe Racing BMW M6 GT3 with a 9:27.693, while the surprise appearance of Maxime Martin aboard the #30 Frikadelli Racing Porsche 991.2 GT3R – the Belgian replacing team owner Klaus Abbelen – gave the Barweiler team fourth place. Martin mustered a 9:31.842.
The third row will be filled by the #6 Mercedes-AMG Team HRT AutoArena Mercedes-AMG GT3 courtesy of Patrick Assenheimer’s 9:34.606 and #7 Konrad Motorsport Lamborghini Huracán GT3 (Axcil Jefferies, 9:35.154) who, like the rest of the front-end of the field, set their fastest laps in the closing minutes when the rain slowly receded.
