Frikadelli Racing has added Tobias Müller to its line-up for this weekend’s VLN Nürburgring Endurance Series (NLS) race at the Nordschleife. The Porsche team is back in action following the Nürburgring 24 Hours earlier this month with a single SP9/GT3 Pro-Am entry #30 Porsche 991.2 GT3R to be piloted by the up-and-coming Tobias Müller alongside team principal Klaus Abbelen.
After a successful but ultimately prematurely ended Nürburgring 24 Hours with Rutronik Racing, the 23-year-old continues his rookie GT3 season with the team from Barweiler.
Explaining how he got to join Frikadelli Racing – already a two-time race winner this season – Tobias ‘Turbo’ Müller says: “Last season we gained a lot of kilometres with Porsche and continued that this season with Rutronik in the four races before the 24-hour race and two official Porsche test days.
“That testing session was an exclusive Porsche event where I gained some more kilometres with the GT3R and I was up to speed quickly. Porsche was positive about my performance in the car and for that reason now put me with Frikadelli.
“It was quite a last-minute call with Frikadelli. After the 24 hours, Porsche called me last week and said they would like to place me with Klaus on a Pro-Am car to get in more kilometres and gain some mileage with another Porsche car.”
A child of the Nürburgring, Müller appreciates the sentimental value the Frikadelli Racing Porsche holds to the fans.
“I’m very proud that I get to drive with Frikadelli. It’s like Johannes Scheid’s Eifelblitz: it’s a popular car amongst the fans and an honour to drive it. I’m very proud to be driving a car that is supported by the fans from the Eifel – it’s exciting!”
The fourth NLS race of the season takes place this Saturday. Watch it live on GT.REPORT/live.
