British GT4 champion Jack Brown is set to defend his title in the 2025 season, returning for a third consecutive campaign with Optimum Motorsport and McLaren. This time, he teams up with former championship rival Marc Warren in a significant move that sees him leading a Pro-Am crew for the first time.

Brown, an eight-time race winner, has established himself as one of the most successful drivers in British GT4 history. His triumph in 2024 alongside Zac Meakin secured a long-awaited championship victory after narrowly missing out in 2023. Heading into his third season with Optimum’s McLaren Artura, Brown has his sights set on further milestones, including a third consecutive Silverstone 500 victory and extending his record of winning at least one race in each of his British GT campaigns.

However, history is not in his favor. No driver has ever successfully defended a British GT4 title, and a Pro-Am duo has not claimed the overall championship since 2016. Despite this, Brown remains confident in his new partnership with Warren and the team’s ability to challenge for top honors.

“I’m excited to be returning for a fifth season in British GT, this time teaming up with Marc Warren and continuing with Optimum Motorsport,” Brown stated. “After last season’s success, we’re motivated to build on that momentum and are fully focused on aiming for the top spot. We’re looking forward to a competitive and rewarding season ahead.”

Warren, who made his British GT debut last year with Forsetti, proved to be a strong contender in both the overall and Pro-Am standings, ultimately finishing fourth in points and second in class. Now, he embraces a new challenge alongside Brown and Optimum Motorsport.

“I am thrilled to join Optimum Motorsport and Jack Brown for my second year in British GT,” said Warren. “Last year, we relied on consistency to stay in the fight for the titles until the last round, but this year is going to be different! Over the last few seasons, Jack and Optimum have set the benchmark for GT4 competitiveness, and I need to up my game to perform at the very highest level with them. The McLaren Artura is a fantastic car to be learning in, and I can’t wait to get going!”

The Brown-Warren duo is Optimum Motorsport’s second GT4 entry, with the first—Harry George and Luca Hopkinson—announced earlier this year. Both McLaren Arturas will be showcased at Silverstone’s British GT media day, where fans can attend for free by reserving tickets at silverstone.co.uk/events/british-gt-championship.

The 2025 British GT season kicks off at Donington Park on April 5-6, promising a thrilling battle for the GT4 crown as Brown and Warren take on the challenge of making history.
