The Easter weekend has for many years been the traditional start to the British GT Championship. Apart from a single visit to Brands Hatch in 2016, the traditional opening race weekend has always taken place at Oulton Park.
Now in 2020 global events have consigned everyone’s plans to the dustbin and this Easter weekend drivers, teams, marshals, media and spectators all find themselves locked down at home wondering when things will get back to normal.
For British GT the opening round is now penciled in for mid July at Spa Francorchamps with the postponed races at Oulton Park, Snetterton, Silverstone and Donington all planned to take place later in the year with series organiser SRO still committed to presenting a full championship.
None of this helps us this weekend, however, GT REPORT photographer Jurek Biegus has been photographing British GT at Oulton Park since 2007 so he’s delved into his archive to find some pictures from 2007 to 2015.
As you can imagine that is a lot of pictures so part one of the gallery is here, Part 2 will drop on Monday, the traditional race day of the weekend.
