Ian Gough and Tom Wrigley are set to join forces with Century Motorsport in the 2024 British GT Championship. The pair will be piloting a BMW M4 as the Warwickshire-based team aims to defend its GT4 teams’ title.

The accomplished driver pairing, who previously achieved success with the RACE LAB McLaren outfit in 2023, secured two overall GT4 wins last season, finishing third in the standings and clinching the runner-up spot in GT4 Pro-Am. The move to Century Motorsport marks a strategic shift for Gough and Wrigley as they look to take on the challenges of the 2024 season.

Century Motorsport had a stellar 2023, claiming the GT3 drivers’ title with Darren Leung and Dan Harper, in addition to winning the GT4 teams’ championship and the GT4 Pro-Am drivers’ crown with Michael Johnston and Chris Salkeld. Gough and Wrigley are eager to contribute to the team’s continued success and aim for the GT4 titles that eluded them in the previous year.

Tom Wrigley, expressing his enthusiasm, stated, “After narrowly missing out on the overall and Pro-Am titles in 2023, Ian and I are delighted to be returning to the British GT Championship. Ian was, in my view, the fastest Am on the grid last year. With a season of experience under his belt, we’re feeling really prepared to take the fight to the front more consistently.”

The Gough-Wrigley partnership will continue to showcase the branding of The Lions Barber Collective on their BMW M4. This collaboration supports the men’s mental health awareness charity, providing free haircuts in the paddock while spreading a crucial message about mental health.

Suicide prevention remains a central focus for the team, with SRO funding mental health training for all teams. This initiative encourages teams to develop essential skills such as empathy, judgment-free listening, and appropriate signposting for those in need.

“We came so close to winning both GT4 titles last year, and that is our goal for the season ahead,” said Gough. “I have no doubt that Century is the best team on the grid, plus Tom has so much expertise with the BMW. I know we’ll be able to extract the maximum from each other every time we hit the track.”

As the second crew confirmed by Century for the upcoming British GT season, Gough and Wrigley join the previously announced GT3 entry of Carl Cavers and Lewis Plato, who move from the team’s GT4 lineup to compete in the Silver-Am class.
