Auer led the pack at the start but temporarily lost his advantage while navigating lapped traffic. However, a flawless pit stop by his team helped him regain control of the race. Jordan Pepper of TGI Team Lamborghini by GRT finished in second place, demonstrating impressive pace on the demanding Bördekurs circuit. Meanwhile, Maro Engel, racing for Mercedes-AMG Team Winward, claimed third place thanks to a well-timed pit stop strategy.
The first round of mandatory pit stops reshuffled the order, with Auer briefly losing time behind competitors struggling on cold tires. The decisive moment arrived on lap 18 when Auer, Pepper, and Thomas Preining all pitted simultaneously. Auer narrowly rejoined ahead of his rivals, building a gap of nearly two seconds. He defended his lead until the finish, earning his first DTM victory since 2022.
Engel’s late pit stop allowed him to overtake Preining for third place. Meanwhile, Jules Gounon, who had stopped earlier, lost two positions and finished fifth.
Ferrari driver Jack Aitken secured sixth place, followed by Ayhancan Güven in seventh, representing Manthey EMA. Marco Wittmann finished eighth, becoming the best-placed BMW driver for Schubert Motorsport. Defending champion Mirko Bortolotti gained three positions to finish ninth in his Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo2. Luca Engstler completed the top ten.
