Thomas Preining and Ayhancan Güven steered Manthey EMA to victory in the third round of the Nürburgring Endurance Series (NLS), delivering a smart and strategic win in the #911 Porsche 911 GT3 R.
Güven made a strong getaway from pole for the four-hour 56. Adenauer ADAC Rundstrecken-Trophy, but Christopher Haase in the #15 Scherer Sport PHX Audi wasn’t about to play follow-the-leader and quickly challenged the leader. On lap five, the Scherer Sport PHX Audi driver made a bold, calculated move to snatch first place. The battle was fierce, and after the first pit stops, Fabian Schiller took charge in the GetSpeed Mercedes-AMG GT3, proving blisteringly quick.
Meanwhile, Morris Schuring mounted a strong charge in the #3 Falken Porsche, climbing to third with just an hour remaining and putting pressure on the front-runners. But it was Preining’s slick pit strategy that sealed the deal—pitting a lap later than his rivals meant a shorter final stop, putting him back in front. From there, it was all about control as he defended his lead like a seasoned pro.
At the chequered flag, Manthey’s Porsche #911 took a brilliant win, with GetSpeed’s Mercedes #14 following in second and Schuring/Müller rounding out the podium in the Falken Porsche #3.
Morris Schuring has also been named Driver of the Day showing a stunning performance.
