Bastian Buus, Thomas Preining and Ricciardo Feller are the winners of the Spa 24 Hours of 2026. The Lionspeed GP trio started from the pitlane, which was a huge setback. They gave their all, and their hard work finally paid off.
A very impressive feat that put Lionspeed on the international GT3 racing map for sure now, is how team manger Patrick Kolb described it after the race. This season marks the team’s inaugurual season running a Pro line-up in Pro class, and they couldn’t be more proud to achieve this after their start of the GT World Challenge season was a little tough.
The drivers arrived soaked in champagne and tired to the media center, looking forward to rest. Buus’ trophy looks heavy, which is also the reason why he puts it down while speaking to GT REPORT. “A good kind of heavy,” the 23-year-old laughs. Another box ticked: Buus is now the youngest Spa 24H winner since Jules Gounon in 2017, who won at the age of 22.
“We arrived here believing we could win and it didn’t change even though we had to start from the pitlane,” The Danish driver continues. “We knew we had to do our job, make the right calls at the right moment, play it a bit smart and be a bit patient. Sometimes we were stuck in a situation where we felt like we had to risk something, and we choose not to.”

The flag couldn’t drop fast enough: “Big relief”
Thinking quickly but smart was the key factor to drive to the top without making mistakes. “Of course we overtook a few people,” Buus smiles, “but also on strategy the team played it really well.” In the end, the Lionspeed Porsche was the only Porsche on the podium, while three Porsches were chasing the #48 Mercedes down for the win.
“The last hour of the race was really not enjoyable with small showers of rain coming in. The final pit stops – everything that is normally no issue at all, is something you’re very nervous about. It was a big relief when the time ran out and the car crossed the line,” Buus adds.
It’s clear that the victory means a lot for the three drivers and the team. Especially Buus and Feller know Lionspeed very well, as they were already competing with the team last year. “We were working with them towards having a Pro car at some point. Maybe not this season, but eventually. It’s a dream story for us, and also for the team.”
“They put all their effort into making it here, and then also being able to perform on the level they do after such a short period of time in the championship, which I find very professional and is something I’m proud to be part of.”

Buus, Feller and Preining continue with DTM weekend
There’s not a lot of time to celebrate, as Buus gears up for the next DTM weekend, this time at Norisring. The same is applicable to Feller and Preining, who are also doing DTM. They are team mates and competing for Manthey Racing, while Buus will be back behind the wheel of the Land Motorsport Porsche.
