A new team has entered the chat with very familiar faces.
Hanley Motorsports made their public debut on Wednesday, announcing a massive program for the 2027 IMSA season. The team will utilize BMW machinery in both the WeatherTech Sportscar Championship and Michelin Pilot Challenge. In the WeatherTech Championship, the team will compete in both GT Daytona PRO (GTD PRO) and GT Daytona (GTD) classes with the GT3-spec BMW M4. Simultaneously, the team will enter a GT4-spec M4 in the Grand Sport (GS) class of Pilot Challenge.
Hanley Motorsports is, in essence, a merger of DXDT Racing and Paul Miller Racing. Part of the new Hanley Motorsports leadership team is David Askew and Bryan Sellers. Askew was owner of DXDT while Sellars served as Team Manager. The team had been running Corvette machinery in both IMSA and GT World Challenge America in recent seasons. DXDT ends their tenure with their first IMSA podium at Petit Le Mans in October.
Additionally, Michael Simmons joins with a wealth of IMSA experience. Simmons has been part of Paul Miller Racing for over a decade, being part of multiple championships – including the GTD PRO championship last season. Simmons has been appointed Team Principal for the new Hanley operation.
Hanley confirms they will operate out of the old Paul Miller Racing shop in Buford, Georgia for 2027. The team is building a new facility in nearby Flowery Branch with plans to move in before 2028.
The team confirmed driver announcements will come at a later date.
