Bohemia Energy Racing with Scuderia Praha repeated its 2018 win of the 12H Spa at Spa-Francorchamps.
The Ferrari 488 GT3 driven by Jiří Písařík, Josef Kral and Matteo Malucelli claimed victory with a total of 250 laps in the 12-hour race on the legendary Ardennes race track. It was the Czech team’s second win of the current 24H Series season after it also won Mugello.
It was a hard fight for the lead between the Scuderia Praha Ferrari and the Grasser Racing Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo of Mirko Bortolotti, Christian Engelhart, Rolf Ineichen and Stefano Costantini, until the Lambo made contact with a slower car while overtaking resulting in a puncture and a left rear damage. The long repair left the team chanceless to win. In the end, the Austrian squad could salvage only eight position.
Second place went to Herberth Motorsport Porsche 911.2 GT3R of Daniel Allemann, Ralf Bohn and Robert Renauer. The German team started the second, 8-hour part of the race from the third position, growing stronger as the race went on even up to the point where the Porsche was leading the race until the last 6 minutes. Herberth Motorsport had gambled on a late splash-and-dash and it almost paid off, but a mishap on their final pitstop would cost Herberth Motorsport just enough time to lose the lead. Scuderia Praha Ferrari overtook with minutes left in the race and brought home the win.
The Phoenix Racing Audi R8 LMS GT3 driven by Frank Stippler, Vincent Kolb and Kim Luis Schramm finished third.
