Scherer Sport PHX will contest the 2025 Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie (NLS) and 24 Hours of the Nürburgring with both Audi and Porsche in the top SP9 class. Alongside the proven Audi R8 LMS GT3, the team debuts a Porsche 911 GT3 R at the ADAC RAVENOL 24h Nürburgring.

The Porsche will be driven for the first time this upcoming weekend at the ADAC Ruhrpott Trophy by Patric Niederhauser and Patrick Pilet, both seasoned GT drivers with Nürburgring credentials. Pilet, a 24 Hours of the Nürburgring overall winner, brings vast Porsche experience dating back to 2007.
Ron Moser, new team principal in 2025, sees the dual-brand entry as a bold but logical step: “Entering the top class with a new brand is a challenge we’re happy to take on.” The team has already begun refining the Porsche setup in testing, supported by veteran engineer Sébastien Breuil, who won the Nürburgring 24h in 2019 as race engineer for Phoenix Racing and again in 2023 with Comtoyou Racing in Spa.
Christian Scherer, CEO of the Scherer Group, explains the motivation behind the expansion: “The Audi R8 LMS has proven to be a successful model for us. As last year’s Nürburgring 24 Hours winners, we’re proud to return with the number 1 on our Audi. At the same time, we’re very excited about the Porsche 911 GT3 R. We now want to be among the best in the top category with the 911 as well.”
The driver line-up for the Nürburgring 24 Hours will be announced soon. Scherer adds: “Our fans can expect one or two surprises.”
