Mühlner Motorsport is set for a major 2026 GT3 endurance programme built around three of the sport’s biggest 24-hour races. The Belgian-American squad is set to contest the Rolex 24 at Daytona, the ADAC RAVENOL 24h Nürburgring and the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa with a brand-new Porsche 911 GT3 R Evo prepared to the latest 2026 specification.
The team’s reappearance at Daytona ends a three-year absence from the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. Its #123 Porsche will compete in the GTD class at the season opener on 24-25 January, marking Mühlner’s return to the event where it last scored a runner-up finish in LMP3 back in 2022. The programme draws on the team’s longstanding U.S. presence in DeLand, Florida, only minutes from Daytona International Speedway.
New season, new machinery
The commitment centres on the updated 2026 Porsche 911 GT3 R, which will make its race debut at Daytona. Porsche has refined its customer GT3 platform with extensive updates. Stepping up into GT3 competition with Porsche’s newest GT3 R underlines Mühlner Motorsport’s long-term relationship with the German marque across both sides of the Atlantic.
Four-driver line-up confirmed for Daytona
The #123 Porsche will be driven by David Musial Sr., David Musial Jr., Peter Ludwig and Ryan Yardley.
Team founder and CEO Bernhard Mühlner said the entry into GTD marks an important milestone: “We have been preparing this project for several years and we’re incredibly proud to finally go racing with this car and such a strong driver combination. Returning to Daytona in GTD is a big moment for us.”
World-class endurance focus for 2026
Following Daytona, the team will take the new GT3 R to Europe for two major summer showpieces: the 24 Hours of the Nürburgring in May and the 24 Hours of Spa in late June. Additional GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup rounds are under consideration as part of a wider expansion.
The year will begin even earlier with a parallel Middle East Trophy campaign. Mühlner Motorsport will enter Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (992) cars in the Michelin 6H Abu Dhabi (9–10 January) and Michelin 24H Dubai (16–17 January), creating a challenging overlap with January preparations at Daytona.
Bernhard Mühlner said the early-season schedule is ambitious but achievable. “First we focus on the next races,” he said. “Having our 992 cars in Abu Dhabi and Dubai while we’re also heading to Daytona is a huge challenge for the whole team. Luckily, we’ve built a broad infrastructure over the years that allows us to handle programmes like this successfully.”
The team is also evaluating further projects for 2026 and beyond.
“We’re in close talks with several organisations and partners, and we’re planning a few surprises. It’s very likely that we’ll return to a European paddock that has been close to our hearts in recent years with a fantastic project.”
Mühlner Motorsport will announce additional plans as they are finalised.
