DTM Red Bull Ring Qualifying 2 saw Kelvin van der Linde in the #3 Schubert Motorsport BMW M4 GT3 Evo secure pole position with a best lap time of 1:27.575, making a strong comeback after his DNF in Race 1.

A surprise performance came from Finn Wiebelhaus in the #64 HRT Ford Racing Ford Mustang GT3, who qualified second to secure a front row start for Ford, finishing just 0.085 seconds behind.

Lucas Auer in the #22 Mercedes-AMG Team Landgraf Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo completed the top three, followed by Jules Gounon in the #48 Mercedes-AMG Team Mann-Filter Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo in fourth.

Maro Engel in the #80 Mercedes-AMG Team Ravenol Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo qualified fifth, ahead of Bastian Buus in the #29 Land-Motorsport Porsche 911 GT3 R in sixth. It was also confirmed that Buus received a 5-second penalty for causing a collision with Dörr in Race 1. As the race ended under Safety Car conditions, the penalty dropped him from P4 to P14 in the final classification.

Nicki Thiim in the #7 Comtoyou Racing Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3 Evo finished seventh, followed by Ben Dörr in the #25 Dörr Motorsport McLaren 720S GT3 Evo in eighth.

Marco Wittmann in the #11 Schubert Motorsport BMW M4 GT3 Evo placed ninth, while Tom Kalender in the #84 Mercedes-AMG Team Landgraf Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo completed the top ten.

Race 2 gets underway at 13:30 local time.
