Qualifying has concluded for tonight’s three-hour GT World Challenge America powered by AWS feature race at Sebring International Raceway, with Mikael Grenier and Michai Stephens capturing overall and Pro class pole position for JMF Motorsports in the No. 34 Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo.

Stephens and Grenier combined for the fastest time across the two qualifying sessions with a 2:01.088 average. Joining JMF on the front row are Matias Perez Companc and Frederik Schandorff in the No. 12 AF Corse USA Ferrari 296 GT3 EVO.

In Pro-Am, Florida-based Triarsi Competizione will start from class pole, with Sebastian Mascaro and Riccardo Agostini piloting the No. 18 Ferrari 296 GT3. The duo will roll off fifth overall.

Jay Schreibman and Oswaldo Negri qualified 17th overall as the lone Am class entry in the field aboard the No. 163 Ferrari 296 GT3 EVO.

Two penalties were issued early in the opening qualifying session for pit speed infractions. Both the No. 28 RS1 and No. 017 KellyMoss Porsche 911 GT3-R (992) EVO entries were assessed stoppage penalties, while KellyMoss driver Michael Clark also received a Stop + 60-second penalty.

The lone red flag across both sessions flew midway through Qualifying 1 after Frank Depew stopped on the Ulman Straight, resulting in both of the team’s laps being deleted. Depew and teammate Robin Liddell will start 20th overall.

“Last year was quite tricky here for us,” said Grenier following the pole-winning run. “Porsche was flying and BMW as well. So, we’ll see in the race. I think they are also very fast over one lap now. We saw in Q2 with all the pros, but maybe on long run on tire deg, we will be all right. We’ll see.”

“It would be nice to do three out of three to start the season and to have a bit of a buffer in the points. But, obviously, it’s a long season. I think our big advantage is we have consistency, so working with the same guys from last year, working with Michai (Stephens) again. He’s made a good step as well. So, I think on average we are probably the best pairing. But yeah, we’ll see when the other Silvers start to catch a bit. We have to score points early in the season.”
