Will Davison was quick to put the spotlight on Renee Gracie after the pair claimed victory in Race 1 at Queensland Raceway, giving the #181 OnlyFans Racing Ferrari 296 GT3 its first GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS win.
For Gracie, the result carried extra meaning. Once regarded as an up-and-coming young driver, she stepped away from racing and built a high-profile career outside the sport before returning on her own terms. Now, in the first season of her own programme, she has taken her first win with OnlyFans Racing.
Davison said the victory was a reflection of the work Gracie has put in behind the scenes, both in building the team and in adapting to the step into GT3 Pro-Am competition.
“It’s been a great few days,” Davison said. “We’ve been in the top two in every practice session.
“Renee has just done a sensational job. I’m just super proud of her, because she’s misunderstood, but she’s fucking determined.
“This move to step up into this Pro-Am outright category is something where she’s challenging herself. The first few rounds haven’t been easy, moving from the Audi to the Ferrari, but she is just so determined, and she took a big step forward at the test day.
“For me, I was more nervous for her. She did such a good job, and I didn’t want to let her down. I was just thinking about her, and this moment for her life, and what she’s been through. She’s put this programme together.
“It’s pretty impressive the way she operates. It’s so cool to be part of it, really.”
