A 33-car field heads north of the border next weekend as the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship travels to Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (CTMP) for its lone round outside the United States.

Three classes will compete in the two-hour, 40-minute sprint race, with LMP2, GTD Pro and GTD making up the field. LMP2 and GTD Pro each feature 10 entries, while GTD boasts the largest class with 13 cars, rounding out the 33-car grid.

As in recent seasons, several notable lineup changes are in store across all three classes as the championship heads to the Canadian circuit.

With the GTP class absent from the weekend, Ricky Taylor will step away from his full-time No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing Cadillac program to make a one-off LMP2 appearance with PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports. Backed by Bryan Herta Autosport, Taylor will co-drive the No. 52 Oreca 07 alongside Misha Goikhberg. Additionally, Ben Hanley joins the No. 22 United Autosports entry, replacing Paul di Resta, who will miss the event due to FIA World Endurance Championship commitments.

Beyond the driver changes, the LMP2 field will be down one full-time entry, as the No. 18 Era Motorsport Oreca 07 will not compete at CTMP. The team announced its absence during last weekend’s event at Watkins Glen but did not provide a reason for skipping the race.

In GTD Pro, YRB Racing moves up from GTD after earning a podium finish in its WeatherTech Championship debut at Watkins Glen. The team will field the No. 68 “Car Blanche” Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo with Valentin Hasse Clot returning for a second consecutive race alongside Scott Andrews, who rejoins the team after previously competing with the organization under its former banner, van der Steur Racing, earlier this season.

The hometown Pfaff Motorsports squad currently has an open seat in its No. 9 Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2, as Andrea Caldarelli remains absent from the preliminary entry list while recovering from an eye injury sustained at Watkins Glen.

In GTD, Roman De Angelis rejoins Heart of Racing Team’s GT3 program. The Canadian will partner Dudu Barrichello in the championship-leading No. 27 Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo, filling in for Tom Gamble, who is competing in the FIA World Endurance Championship’s Hypercar class next weekend.

Joining the top series on the bill for next weekend includes the Michelin Pilot Challenge, VP Racing Fuels SportsCar Challenge, and the single-make Mazda MX-5 Cup. On-track action begins Friday, July 10th, with Sunday’s main event sprint racing beginning on 2:05pm ET, live on Peacock.
