Christian Engelhart will make his DTM comeback at the Nürburgring this weekend (14-16 August), taking over the #19 Grasser Racing Team Lamborghini Temerario GT3 in place of the injured Maximilian Paul.
Paul is recovering after surgery on the injuries he sustained in his crash in the opening race at the Norisring. He is expected back in the car for a DTM test at the Sachsenring on 23 August. A race return could come as early as the Sachsenring round in September. Engelhart lines up alongside teammate Mirko Bortolotti.
The Bavarian is a long-serving Lamborghini factory driver with Grasser, having won the 2017 Blancpain GT Series title and the 2019 Daytona 24 Hours for the Austrian team. He made his DTM debut in 2022 and won at Oschersleben in 2023 – racing with Porsche – then took a podium on his first outing with Grasser at the 2023 Hockenheim finale, before a knee injury cut short his 2024 campaign with the team. This weekend is his first DTM start since.
