British GT is reverting back to two one-hour races this weekend at Snetterton after its first endurance of the year last time out at Rockingham and you can watch both races live right here.
GT3 qualifying was dominated by Aston Martin. Before the session, TF Sport’s Nicki Thiim said Snetterton suits the Vantage GT3 and he wasn’t wrong as he set a 1m47.385 on his first lap — half a second clear of Phil Keen in the Barwell Lamborghini Huracán GT3 after Yelmer Buurman’s best effort which was just a tenth shy of the Dane was disqualified for exceeding track limits.
Thiim’s team-mate Mark Farmer was pushed all the way by Graham Davidson as the Jetstream Motorsport driver lost out by 0.048s with the number 11 taking double pole position.
GT4 was equally polarising. Ben Tuck beat his rivals by 0.5s to claim pole for race 1 for Century Motorsport in the BMW M4 GT4 while Matt Nicoll-Jones headed a chain of seven cars separated by just 0.4s as he claimed the honours for his Academy Autosport team.
Race 1, ran earlier today, was won by the number 11 Aston Martin. Although Farmer had lost the lead in the first stint, Thiim returned to the front after a quick pitstop under safety car conditions brought the TF Sport machine out before the Jetstream Vantage that had led the race from the opening laps.
Race 2 starts at 15:30 BST / 16:30 CET.
