Paddock Motorsport has announced a significant expansion of its British GT Championship campaign, solidifying its three-car team with the inclusion of Alex Walker and Blake Angliss to complete its bolstered GT4 entry.
The team, which had earlier revealed Mark Smith and Martin Plowman piloting the McLaren 720S GT3 Evo, alongside Ed McDermott and reigning British GT4 champion Matt Cowley in a Mercedes-AMG GT4, has now finalized its roster with two rising talents to share its McLaren Artura GT4 in the Silver class. This move marks Paddock’s entrance into both the GT4 Silver and Pro-Am categories, in addition to its presence in GT3 Pro-Am this season.
Although Walker and Angliss are making their British GT debuts, both drivers have demonstrated significant potential throughout their racing careers, boasting a track record of victories and competitive performances.
Walker, previously a standout in single-seaters, transitioned to GT racing, showcasing his prowess in GT Cup events with the team last season and competing in the BMW M2 Cup in Germany. Angliss, on the other hand, comes from a successful stint in Ginetta racing, notably finishing second in the G55 Pro class in 2022 after securing numerous wins and podiums.
Under the guidance of experienced engineer Simon Pollock, Paddock Motorsport aims to make an immediate impact across multiple classes in the championship this season.
Expressing his enthusiasm, Walker stated, “A huge amount of work has gone into making this move happen, and now I’m just eager to get started in British GT with Paddock.” Angliss echoed this sentiment, expressing excitement about joining both the British GT Championship and Paddock Motorsport.
Paddock Motorsport founder Martin Plowman remarked, “It’s fantastic to have our British GT plans confirmed… They’ve both been race winners in other championships, and their driving styles should complement each other when sharing the Artura GT4.”
With preparations in full swing, Paddock Motorsport anticipates a promising season ahead as they gear up to challenge for success in the British GT Championship.
