Reigning British GT4 champions Marc Warren and Jack Brown will graduate to the senior ranks of the British GT Championship in 2026, continuing their successful partnership with Optimum Motorsport aboard a McLaren 720S GT3.

The move follows a landmark GT4 campaign in which the Pro-Am pairing edged out Ravi Ramyead and Charlie Robertson to secure the overall title – the first Pro-Am crew to do so since 2016. Brown also wrote himself into the history books by becoming British GT’s first two-time GT4 champion, capping the season with a record-breaking career win tally in the final race.

With unfinished business now firmly addressed, the same driver-team-manufacturer combination will remain intact for the transition to GT3, albeit with McLaren’s flagship 720S replacing the Artura used in GT4.

Optimum Motorsport enters the new season well-armed with experience. The York-based squad has operated the McLaren 720S in British GT and international competition since 2020 and challenged for the overall title last year with Morgan Tillbrook and Marvin Kirchhöfer.

Brown’s relationship with the team dates back to 2023, when he narrowly missed out on the GT4 crown before bouncing back emphatically a year later alongside Zac Meakin. He then joined forces with Warren to deliver back-to-back success and now takes the next step into GT3 Silver-Am, a category unavailable in the junior class.

“I’m delighted to be returning to the British GT Championship with Optimum Motorsport for the 2026 season,” said Brown. “Marc and I had a very strong year together, and stepping up to GT3 feels like the natural progression. We’re excited for the challenge and ready to keep learning as we move into a new chapter.”

Warren, one of GT4’s standout amateur drivers over the past two seasons, is equally eager to test himself against a deeper and more experienced field.

“I’m absolutely buzzing to be moving up to GT3 with Jack and Optimum,” he said. “The performance jump is huge and the competition is fierce, but our main objective is to fight for Silver-Am honours. If we can put ourselves in the mix overall, that would be a fantastic bonus.”

Optimum Motorsport is expected to confirm further British GT3 and GT4 entries in due course.

The 34th season of the British GT Championship gets underway with the official media day at Silverstone on March 31, ahead of the season-opening race weekend at the same venue on April 25–26.
