In case you missed it, we have crossed over into the month of March. The countdown is on for SRO America and the time has come to see who is participating in their flagship series. On Monday, the entry list for the 2026 GT World Challenge America powered by AWS season was released. This season, the championship changes it weekend format from two 90-minute races to a single three-hour race. The format has seen positive reception if the entry list is any indication. 22 cars are set to do battle over the seven-round championship, an increase from 18 in 2025.
Pro
Six cars are set to headline in the Pro Class for the 2026 campaign. Dolahite Racing will be Ford’s sole full-time representative in the series and they are making a big leap from Am to the Pro class this season. AF Corse USA will campaign on of their two Ferraris in Pro, moving up from Pro-Am. Meanwhile, Porsche is in Pro by way of owner driver Michael McCann. McCann will share his #8 machine with Canadian Zachary Vanier.
Turner Motorsport returns for 2026 keeping status quo. The longtime BMW campaigners keep the same driver lineup of Justin Rothberg and Robby Foley in the #29 entry. Lamborghini will have a Pro presence by way of series newcomers Chicago Performance and Tuning. Drivers Mads Siljehaug and Nicolai Elghanayan will only race Sonoma, Road America and the Indy 8 Hour. Nonetheless, the team confirms they intend to run their #64 Huracan in all seven rounds. Finally, Canadian outfit JMF returns to campaign their #34 Mercedes-AMG. The team retains their driver lineup of Mercedes factory driver Canadian Mikael Grenier and American Michai Stephens.
Pro-Am
By far, the biggest numbers will be in the Pro-Am category. Fourteen cars are set to do battle for class honors across the season. To put it lightly, the representation for Porsche in the class is (very) high. Ohio-based Wright Motorsports will have two cars with their lineup featuring New Zealand’s Ryan Hardley, a Porsche Motorsport North America selected driver. Kellymoss is running three cars in Pro-Am with Colin Braun and Loek Hartog as the anchors of their line-up. Simultaneously, RS1 and GMG also will campaign a single 911 GT3 R each. In total, Porsche has seven entries – half the class!
Elsewhere, McLaren returns to GT World Challenge with Archangel Motorsports. The #69 has an unchanged driver lineup of Americans Aaron Telitz and Todd Coleman back for the full season. Rebel Rock Racing will give Aston Martin presence on the grid as they step up to GT3 competition. Frank de Pew is joined by the grizzly veteran Robin Liddell in the team’s #71 Vantage. Concurrently, Chouest Povoledo will ensure Corvette is represented in GT World Challenge. The team’s namesakes, Ross Chouest and Aaron Povoledo, will share the Corvette Z06 GT3.R for the full campaign.
Lastly, there is BMW represented in the class by Riley Technologies and Random Vandals Racing. Riley makes their first foray into GTWC America with Slade Stewart and Andy Lee in the #14. This duo comes up to GT3 from competing previously in the single-make Lamborghini Super Trofeo championship. Random Vandals, on the contrary, is returning to the series but downsizing. The lovable raccoon will only be represented in Pro-Am with Derek DeBoer and Hampus Ericsson, younger brother of Indy 500 champ Marcus, at the controls of the #188 M4 GT3.
Am
Rounding out the grid, per usual, is the Am class. Presently, only two entries will run the whole season. Lone Star Racing will enter their Mercedes-AMG while AF Corse returns to the class with the team’s second entry. In similar fashion to 2025, Brazilian Oswaldo Negri and American Jay Schreibman team up to drive the #163 Ferrari 296.
Surely the excitement is intensifying as we are less than four weeks away from kicking off the seven-race 2026 series. The journey to be crowned champion commences at Sonoma Raceway on Sunday, March 29.
