For decades, the Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari has been the stage for some of racing’s most memorable moments — and last weekend, the 6 Hours of Imola felt right at home on that list. As the World Endurance Championship returned to the circuit, it once again turned Imola into a meeting point between cutting-edge machinery and something far more timeless: pure, unfiltered racing culture.
A different kind of race weekend

As soon as you arrive, you can feel the atmosphere is completely different from a modern Formula 1 race. The perimeter is packed with spectators from all over the world, not just stuck in a grandstand, but actively hunting for every little opening in the fence to get closer to the track and the cars.
The vibe is full of contrasts. On one side, you have fans chilling on the grass at Acque Minerali, admiring the cars under the shade of the trees. On the other side, people are standing on their toes, packed together at Tamburello just to catch a better glimpse of a Ferrari scorching through.
The red Tifosi

Then there’s the red wave of the Tifosi. From the youngest kids to the oldest veterans of the track, waving their flags and cheering every time a red car passes by. But it’s not just Ferrari; there are passionate supporters for every single team, hands gripping the catch fences, wanting to physically feel the spectacle.
When the track becomes the grandstand

And when the checkered flag falls, the circuit transforms. The red sea flooding the main straight, the smoke bombs darkening the scenery, and the crowd climbing the pit lane fences just to get a clear view of the drivers on the podium. All of this shows you that WEC is still racing for the people.
Imola proved that the passion for endurance racing is brighter than ever. This is clearly just the beginning of a fantastic season, leading us toward the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans. The road ahead is set, and the momentum is only building.
