Conquest Racing announced Tuesday that Lorenzo Patrese will replace Manny Franco alongside Alberto Costa for next weekend’s StubHub Monterey Sportscar Championships. According to the team press release, Franco is unavailable for next weekend’s race but did not give further detail.

Lorenzo, son of former F1 winner Riccardo, is a convenient selection. He is Conquest’s third driver for the Michelin Endurance Cup this season. IMSA fans are becoming increasingly familiar with Patrese, now in his second season. He ran the Michelin Endurance Cup in 2025 for Cetilar Racing, highlighted by a GTD class pole at Petit Le Mans.

Patrese comes in hoping to help Conquest maintain momentum from Long Beach. Franco and Costa scored their first podium of the season in the 100-minute sprint this past Saturday. Their third-place finish has the duo currently ranked sixth in GTD points. Furthermore, Conquest scored a podium at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca last year in GTD.

The 2-hour 40-minute race, round four of the IMSA season, is Sunday, May 3 starting at 1:10pm local time.
