CSM, which has primarily campaigned Porsche machinery across multiple IMSA platforms, will switch to Aston Martin next weekend at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (CTMP) in the IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge. Ismaeel Ellahi will pilot the No. 25 Aston Martin Vantage GT4 EVO.
The 19-year-old Ellahi has competed in all but one VP Racing SportsCar Challenge event for CSM this season, earning podium finishes at Daytona and Mid-Ohio. However, each of his previous starts came behind the wheel of the team’s Porsche 718 GT4 RS CS.
CSM has become well known for competing across several IMSA series, most notably the Michelin Pilot Challenge since the team’s inception. The organization also fields a single-car effort in Porsche Carrera Cup North America with Nikita Lastochkin. While the addition of an Aston Martin marks the team’s first expansion to another manufacturer, it does not represent a full transition away from Porsche.
“I will drive an Aston Martin GT4 for the rest of the IMSA VP SportsCar Challenge,” Ellahi said. “We had our test a few days ago and man did it go well, better than I’ve ever driven before. I’m super excited. This car is incredible. I can’t wait for Canada next week. Let’s see what we can do. This is a one-time livery. After Canada, she will be in a full dress. Thank you to the CSM crew, who worked their tails off to get this thing ready for Canada.”
CSM and Ellahi return to the track July 10-12 at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, where the VP Racing SportsCar Challenge will hold a pair of sprint races during the weekend.
