Ferrari has given its 499P its most significant update yet, running a revised version of the three-time Le Mans winner at Monza on Tuesday.
The car ran in a camouflage livery, with major changes to the rear wing, rear bodywork and sidepods, plus a reworked front. Miguel Molina, Antonio Fuoco and Antonio Giovinazzi shared the driving. Testing is expected to continue through Thursday.
Biggest change since 2023
Ferrari has run the 499P largely unchanged through its title defence this year, making this is the most significant work on the car since it first raced in 2023. Manufacturers are given a limited number of evo jokers to develop their Hypercars, and Ferrari has used only one so far when it made updates to the brake cooling.
Aston Martin’s Valkyrie AMR-LMH was also seen on track at Monza.
Monza returns as 2026 finale
The test coincided with the WEC confirming Monza as its 2026 season finale on 8 November, taking the slot left by the cancelled 8 Hours of Bahrain.
