Nearly 250 historic racing cars came to the Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari from 16 to 18 October for the Imola Classic, the last round of the 2026 Le Mans Classic Series by Peter Auto. The ten categories covered several generations of motorsport, from classic touring cars and 1950s sports cars to Group C prototypes and GT cars from the 2000s.
McLaren Racing CEO Zak Brown was also on the grid. He shared a Jaguar XJR-9 and a Ferrari F430 GTC Evo with Richard Dean and finished on the podium in three of his four races.
Two Group C winners at Imola
Group C had a different winner on each day. Olivier Galant won on Saturday in a Nissan R90CK, while David and Olivier Hart took the win on Sunday in a Lola T92/10. The Harts had already won Saturday’s Endurance Racing Legends 2 race in a Ferrari F430 GTC Evo.
Multiple wins for Breittmayer, Spiers and Greensall
Emile Breittmayer won twice. He shared a BMW 3.0 CSL with his father Olivier to win the Heritage Touring Cup 1 and then won Classic Endurance Racing 1 in a Lola T70 Mk3B. John Spiers and Nigel Greensall had a good weekend too, winning both Gentlemen Challenge races in their Lister Jaguar Costin and the Classic Touring Challenge in a Ford Mustang 289.
Jürgen Rudolph won the 2.0L Cup and Stéphane Nguyen was the winner in Classic Endurance Racing 2. Ivan Vercoutere and Alex Müller won Endurance Racing Legends 1, Mark Sumpter won in Endurance Racing Legends 2 and James Thorpe and Phil Keen took the Heritage Touring Cup 2.
