Silverstone delivered a full weekend of GT Cup action, and the overall honours were split between the series’ front-runners. PB Racing by JMH Automotive took Saturday’s 50-minute Pitstop Race, before Greystone GT hit back on Sunday to win the 100-minute showpiece and hand its McLaren 720S GT3 a dream return.
Bradley Yates and Gilbert Yates combined to deliver a faultless performance in the Sunday feature, overcoming early pressure before converting pole-challenging pace into overall victory. Behind them, PB Racing and Team BRIT completed the GT3 podium – a near-mirror of Saturday, when PB Racing had beaten the Yates pairing to the win, with Team BRIT third on both days.
Away from the GT3 fight, Sunday’s race produced fierce battles across every class. Triple M Motorsport emerged victorious in GTC following a race-long fight with Topcats Racing, Truemix Racing claimed GTO honours after an entertaining duel with the KTM throughout the opening half of the race, while SVG Motorsport secured a dramatic last-lap victory in GTH. Raceworks Motorsport completed the list of class winners after inheriting victory in GTA.
Race 1: Clutton charges through to take Saturday spoils
Gilbert Yates set the tone on Saturday, lapping Silverstone in 2m00.843s to put the #33 Greystone GT McLaren 720S GT3 on overall pole on his GT Cup return. His time edged Team BRIT’s BMW M4 GT3, driven by Jamie Falvey, by two tenths, with Peter Erceg’s #9 PB Racing by JMH Automotive Audi R8 LMS GT3 close behind. Tom Walpole took GTO pole in the Truemix KTM X-BOW GT2, Frank Morris grabbed GTC pole and fourth overall, Sam Branston led a tight GTH field in the Innovation Racing Ginetta G56, and Innovation Racing also headed GTA through its #11 Ginetta G55.
A slippery surface caught out several cars on the opening lap of the 50-minute Pitstop Race. Falvey seized the lead as Yates ran wide at Becketts, before both Yates and Erceg pitted early. Red flags then brought out the clean-up crews, leaving under 30 minutes when green-flag running resumed.
The race turned once the co-drivers climbed aboard. Marcus Clutton, in for Erceg, carved through the field and passed Falvey before hunting down Bradley Yates, racing in his first GT3 outing. Clutton took the lead on the penultimate lap and drove clear to hand PB Racing the overall win. Bradley and Gilbert Yates took second, with Falvey and Paul Fullick completing the GT3 podium in third.
Phil Keen produced the other charge of the afternoon. Taking over from Driver of the Day Michael McInerney, he picked off cars lap after lap in the Team Parker Racing Porsche 911, passing James Pickford for the GTC lead and closing on third overall before the flag. Sam Branston and James Wareing sealed GTH for Innovation Racing ahead of SVG Motorsport, Andrew Perry and Daniel Quintero saw off Chris Murphy to win GTA for Raceworks Motorsport, and Sean Ran and Josh Steed took GTO honours in their AF Corse Ferrari 296.
Race 2: Yates duo deliver dream debut as class battles go to the wire
The 100-minute race burst into life as the packed field charged towards Copse Corner for the opening time. Starting from the second row of the grid, Bradley Yates produced an outstanding opening lap by sweeping around the outside of the GT3 contenders to snatch the overall lead ahead of Paul Fullick’s Team BRIT BMW.
Once in clean air, Yates immediately began building an advantage while drama unfolded behind him. Greystone Racing’s chances received a significant boost when both PB Racing’s Audi and Team BRIT’s BMW ran off the circuit during the opening stint, forcing two of the leading GT3 contenders into recovery drives through the field.
Yates maintained control of the race before handing the McLaren over to father Gilbert during the mandatory pit stops. The second half of the race proved equally composed, with Gilbert producing a flawless stint to guide Greystone GT to overall victory on the McLaren GT3’s return weekend.
Behind the winners, PB Racing recovered strongly to secure second place in GT3, while Team BRIT completed the class podium. Marcus Clutton produced one of the drives of the race after climbing from outside the overall top 20 to finish inside the top 10 by the chequered flag.
The battle for GTC honours proved to be one of the highlights of the afternoon as Topcats Racing and Triple M Motorsport traded positions throughout the race. Charlie Digby built a strong advantage for Triple M Motorsport before being forced to nurse the Lamborghini back to the pits with a developing issue. Felix Livesey took over for the final stint and recovered the lost ground, eventually reclaiming the class lead from Fenwick after an intense battle to secure GTC victory.
The GTO contest also provided plenty of entertainment. The #4 KTM spent much of the opening half of the race battling Truemix Racing, with Tom Walpole twice fighting his way past the Lamborghini before handing over to Marc Kemp. Kemp completed the job during the closing stages to secure GTO victory ahead of the AF Corse Ferrari of Sean Ran & Josh Steed.
GTH produced arguably the closest finish of the race. Marc Elman laid the foundations for SVG Motorsport with a clean opening stint before Cameron Pratt-Thompson steadily reeled in the leading Innovation Racing Ginetta shared by James Wareing and Sam Branston. After closing the gap over the final laps, Pratt-Thompson completed a decisive move around the outside in the closing moments to secure another GT Cup 100 victory for SVG Motorsport. Oselli Motorsport completed the class podium after a strong second half of the race in its Aston Martin.
Innovation Racing initially looked set to dominate the GTA category after establishing an early advantage, but an unscheduled pit stop to deal with an issue for their Ginetta ended its hopes of victory. That promoted Raceworks Motorsport’s Ginetta G55, shared by Daniel Quintero and Andrew Perry, into the class lead, with the pair comfortably securing GTA honours ahead of JTM Racing’s Daniel Perry.

The 2026 GT Cup Championship continues at Brands Hatch on the Grand Prix circuit on 19 September, where the series returns to its traditional sprint race format.
