Sportscar driver Colin Braun is set to return to the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series for his third start of the season, once again driving Kaulig Racing’s No. 25 Ram 1500 “Free Agent” entry next Saturday, August 22 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
Braun’s previous two starts came at road courses with the Kaulig Racing program, finishing ninth at St. Petersburg and 10th at Lime Rock Park. Both starts came behind the wheel of the No. 25, which Kaulig Racing has utilized as a “Free Agent” entry to bring in drivers from various disciplines and with different driving styles.
For Braun, next weekend’s race at New Hampshire will mark his first NASCAR Truck Series oval start since 2011, when he finished 19th at Atlanta Motor Speedway driving the No. 51 Ford for Billy Ballew Motorsports.
In addition to his three Truck Series starts, Braun has continued his efforts in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, competing alongside Tom Blomqvist in Meyer Shank Racing’s No. 60 Acura ARX-06. The duo currently sits eighth in the teams’ championship standings and is looking for its first podium of the season with just two races remaining on the GTP calendar.
Braun also competes in GT World Challenge America alongside Michael Clark in the No. 017 Porsche 911 GT3 R (992) EVO for Kellymoss in the Pro-Am class. The pairing finished fourth in class and fifth overall last time out at Road Atlanta and will return to action later this month at Road America.
Next Saturday’s Truck race at New Hampshire is set to begin at 1:30 p.m. ET, live on Fox Sports 1. The race also marks the last regular season event of the season for the series.
