The DTM field returned to the Sachsenring for a day of testing ahead of the championship’s closing rounds, with Thomas Preining quickest for Manthey on the combined times. On a warm and dry track, teams worked through balance, tyre behaviour and long-run consistency before the season’s final stretch.
One of the standout stories was the return of Maximilian Paul, who climbed back into the #19 TGI Team by GRT Lamborghini Temerario GT3 for the first time since his heavy Norisring accident. The Sachsenring offered an ideal proving ground: fast enough to expose any lingering hesitation, yet technical enough to demand full commitment. Paul settled in quickly, logging a series of clean and controlled stints.
DTM returns to the Sachsenring from 11-13 September for the penultimate round of the championship.
