Tom Blomqvist kept his pace from Friday, going one better on the leaderboard. The Brit’s 1:15.398 was the overall benchmark for Saturday morning’s second free practice session. Right behind him was the sister car as Nick Yelloly put the No. 93 Acura second fastest with a 1:15.677. Julien Andlauer rounded out the top three, with the Frenchmen lapping at 1:15.773 in the No. 7 Porsche.
In LMP2, Tom Dillmann picked up right where left off on Friday, once again topping the class charts with a 1:17.234 in his InterEuropol Oreca. Defending class champions AO Racing were second quickest, courtesy of Dane Cameron’s 1:17.337. Alex Quinn put the points leaders Crowdstrike by APR third with the No. 04 Oreca registering a fastest lap of 1:17.409. Emphatically, all ten cars in the class were within six tenths of a second – as if you didn’t need anymore evidence how close the class is.
For United Autosports, it was a session to forget. Their two entries were the two slowest in the class. Moreover, it was Paul Di Resta who caused the sole red flag of the session. The Scot spun at Turn 2 only ten minutes into the session. Unable to refire the car, practice was halted to rescue the No. 22 Oreca. Accordingly, Daniel Goldburg will lose his fastest lap in qualifying later this afternoon.

Corvette Racing by Pratt Miller Motorsports continued to pace the GTD PRO class. Like Friday, they were 1-2 in class separated by less than a tenth. Unllike Friday, the cars were reversed. Antonio Garcia’s 1:23.522 put the No. 3 ahead of Tommy Milner and the No. 4, timing in with a 1:23.574. Subsequently, like Friday, the RLL McLaren was once again third quickest in the hands of Max Esterson. However, the McLaren was also within a tenth of the Corvettes.
In a surprising twist, the two Corvettes were topped by the top two in GTD. Another fastest lap for the Wayne Taylor Racing Lamborghini Saturday morning, this time Danny Formal set the lap for the No. 45 with a 1:23.240, fastest GT lap in the session. Right behind him is Lorenzo Patrese in the Conquest Ferrari, scoring a 1:23.522 going level with the Garcia Corvette from Pro. After missing Friday’s practice due to gearbox trouble, Dragonspeed recovered nicely. Casper Stevenson slotted the No. 81 Corvette third quickest in class with a 1:23.619.
Practice is complete. Cars are back to set the field with qualifying beginning at 5:05pm local time.
