Porsche test driver Lars Kern lost his Nürburgring 24 Hours ride with Manthey Racing earlier this week when the team was forced to pull out on short notice. Within 24 hours he was back in the game instead racing the #31 Frikadelli Racing Porsche 991.2 GT3R together with Mathieu Jaminet, Lance David Arnold and Maxime Martin. Kern will start Saturday from 18th on the grid as the team just missed out on the final Top Qualifying shoot-out.

Lars Kern: “We’re going to start P19 into the race. Sadly, we couldn’t make it into the Top Qualifying, the final top qualifying session. I still think it is quite an interesting system how it works with the Pro and Pro-Am cars; our #30 car was qualified but not the #31. But nevertheless, since we came here, we have been fighting a problem with the car, we are not really happy with how the car behaves no matter in dry or wet conditions.
“So yeah, in general, let’s see how the mechanics do during the night. We changed axles, we changed everything forward and back, but we seem to be really on the back foot.
“Let’s see how tomorrow goes, it is a long race and it is going to be crazy conditions and we go all in!”
