Francesco Massimo De Luca has been confirmed by Nova Race as one of its drivers for the upcoming Italian GT Sprint Series. The 25-year-old from Rome joins the GT3 ranks after finishing last season’s Italian GT series in second place in the GT4 Pro-Am class.

De Luca will be at the wheel of Nova Race’s newly acquired Honda NSX GT3 Evo, the same team in which he raced last season, and will take part throughout this year’s entire Sprint Series. It is not yet known who De Luca’s teammate will be.

“I am very happy to make this leap in categories with Nova Race, continuing to grow with the support of the whole team,” said De Luca.

“The first tests went very well. I immediately found myself at ease with the Honda NSX GT3 Evo and I hope to be able to put my past experiences to good use. Perhaps I will have to sacrifice some personal satisfaction, but my priority is to stay as close as possible with the Pros!”

Team Manager Nicola Sinigaglia feels optimistic about De Luca’s potential.

“The first season together with De Luca ended with a title in the GT4 class against top-level competition.

“We are sure that by moving into the higher category, Francesco, who did very well in the Honda during our mid-February test session at Vallelunga, will not be intimidated by the great competitiveness that distinguishes the Italian GT3 championship.”

After having already announced Jacopo Guidetti and now Francesco Massimo De Luca, the lineup of Jerago con Orago’s team is slowly taking shape and the remaining drivers who will occupy the empty seats of the two cars confirmed for the Sprint and Endurance Series will be announced at a later date.
