In one of the most anticipated events on the 2026 calendar, Laguna Seca is set to host the season’s first traditional sprint race next weekend, featuring a throwback theme and a 34-car grid.
The field is comprised of 11 GTP entries, nine GTD Pro cars, and 14 GTD machines. While much of the lineup remains unchanged, two driver substitutions headline the entry list.
Scott Andrews will pilot the No. 19 Van Der Steur Racing Aston Martin Vantage GT3, stepping in for Valentin Hasse-Clot. Andrews last competed in IMSA in January with Lone Star Racing’s Mercedes-AMG effort at the Rolex 24. The appearance will mark his debut at Laguna Seca.
The second change comes in the No. 34 Conquest Racing Ferrari, where Larenzo Patrese joins Albert Costa. Patrese previously competed in the endurance rounds at Daytona and Sebring with the team and is also set to make his Laguna Seca debut.
Beyond the driver changes, IMSA embraces a nostalgic tone for the final stop of its West Coast swing. The event will celebrate the history of sports car racing with retro-inspired liveries, branding, and fan activations designed to evoke a vintage atmosphere.
Several teams have already unveiled their special liveries for Sunday’s race. Pratt Miller Motorsports will pay tribute to one of the earliest Corvette Racing designs, while AO Racing debuts its “Sketchy” livery, a creative nod to the original concept sketches behind the fan-favorite Rexy.
The StubHub Monterey SportsCar Championship goes green on Sunday, May 3 at 4:00 p.m. ET, with live coverage on NBCSN and Peacock. The weekend will also feature three support series: Mustang Challenge, Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America, and, for the foreseeable future, the final appearance of the Michelin Pilot Challenge.
