Reigning Repco Supercars Champion Chaz Mostert is getting a second taste of IMSA in 2026. Vasser Sullivan Racing announced Wednesday they will run both of their Lexus RC F GT3s in the upcoming Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix.

The 34-year old Aussie joins the team’s GTD Gold-rated driver Aaron Telitz in the No. 15 Lexus. Mostert returned to the Rolex 24 in January with 75Express racing. With co-drivers Kenny Habul, Maro Engel and Will Power, Mostert finished on the podium with a runner-up in the GTD PRO class. Telitz, though, has already found street course success. He and his GTD teammate Benjamin Pederson won at Long Beach in April. Telitz and Mostert, moreover, will race alongside the full-season GTD PRO entry of Ben Barnicoat and Jack Hawksworth in the No. 14.

For the second time this season, Vasser Sullivan and Lexus will double down on the streets

This is a perfect crossover for Toyota. Mostert is the brand’s poster child in Australia for Toyota’s debut season in Supercars with the GR Supra. Mostert sits eleventh in the Supercars standings with a single podium during Race 3 at Taupo, New Zealand in April. Concurrently, Mostert gets an opportunity to race for Toyota in IMSA raising his profile stateside. Additionally, he gets the opportunity to race Toyota’s current GT3 car in its final season of operation. The Toyota GR GT3 subsequently replaces the Lexus RC F GT3 for the 2027 season.

The Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix for the GTP and GTD PRO classes is set for Saturday, May 30. The 100-minute race on the streets of Downtown Detroit will take place at 4:10pm ET.
