Laurin Heinrich is here to stay. Porsche confirmed Wednesday the 24-year old German will race full-time for Porsche Penske Motorsport in 2027. Heinrich is off to a lightning start in his first season of prototype racing. After sweeping the enduros at Daytona and Sebring with Felipe Nast and Julien Andlauer, Henrich became a star at Laguna Seca. His dramatic last-lap pass for the win over Cadillac’s Earl Bamber gave JDC-Miller Motorsports their first win since the 2021 12 Hours of Sebring. With his unbelievable start to 2026 (3 wins in 4 races and current GTP points leader), it is no surprise Porsche wants to lock down their star for the foreseeable future.

Simultaneously, Porsche confirms Laurens Vanthoor will be “demoted” to the endurance-only role for next season. This is the latest shake-up for Porsche as they are organizing their 2027 lineups. At Long Beach, rumors surfaced that Kevin Estre could be sent “on loan” to Toyota for the 2027 WEC season. However, this move is yet to be confirmed. Outside of Heinrich and Vanthoor, no other drivers announcements were made at this time.
