Rutledge Wood, former Top Gear US host, is set to contest the final six rounds of the 2026 Toyota GR Cup season, beginning this weekend at Road America aboard the No. 34 Precision Racing LA Toyota GR86.
A former race analyst for NBC, Wood has been a longtime presence in the motorsports media landscape, hosting programs including NASCAR Trackside and NBC’s Hot Wheels: Ultimate Challenge. The Alabama native has also performed at-track broadcasting work across NASCAR and IndyCar, while contributing to coverage of horse racing and the NHL.
Wood is no stranger to competition himself, having won the 2013 Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race at Long Beach alongside comedian and noted car collector Adam Carolla.
Furthermore, Wood previously competed in Toyota GR Cup with Precision Racing LA, most recently racing at Indianapolis last season. He joins a four-driver lineup for the team that also includes IMSA veteran Ryan Eversley, Mike LaMarra and Karl Forman.
Following Road America, Wood is scheduled to compete in the final two Toyota GR Cup weekends of the season at Barber Motorsports Park, September 5–7, and Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the season finale, October 17–19.
Wood’s return to Toyota GR Cup competition begins Thursday, August 27, with testing and practice at Road America. The weekend continues Friday with a final practice session before qualifying and Race No. 1 take place Saturday, August 29. The Road America doubleheader concludes Sunday, August 30, with Qualifying No. 2 and Race No. 2 scheduled early in the day.
