Levente Révész and Maximilian Götz struck again in Barcelona, taking victory in Race 1 of the International GT Open at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. The Motopark Mercedes-AMG duo secured their fourth win of the season—third together as a pairing—and crucially stretched Révész’s championship advantage to six points over closest rivals Simon Reicher and Christopher Haase in the Eastalent Racing Audi.
The result leaves the GT Open title fight finely balanced heading into Sunday’s second race, with the championship’s top two locked in a duel that shows no signs of cooling.
Behind the leading pair, Anthony Bartone and Fabian Schiller completed the podium for GetSpeed Mercedes after a closely-fought contest in hot conditions.

Class honours
Pro-Am saw its first new winners of the year as SPS Automotive’s Dexter Müller and Yannick Mettler converted pace into a long-awaited class victory. Their result moves Valentin Pierburg and Dominik Baumann into the points lead by a single point after finishing second, edging past GetSpeed’s Steve Jans and Aaron Walker in the standings.
In Am, the Racing Trevor BMW of Attila Zsigo and Dennis Waszek claimed a superb maiden win, adding more spice to an already unpredictable class battle. With Mark Sansom (Garage 59 McLaren) finishing third and AF Corse Ferrari’s Gino Forgione/Michele Rugolo fourth, the Am standings are now back to a tie at the top.
The race
Drama struck even before the lights went out: Marcin Rogalski lost a wheel and Tom Lebbon retired with mechanical issues during the formation lap. When the race finally got underway, pole-sitter Josh Rattican in the Greystone GT McLaren led the pack ahead of Götz, Schiller and Mettler, only for chaos to unfold at the back. Contact between Mark Sansom and Karun Naran, and a separate clash involving Javier Hernández and Þorsteinn Gissurarson, brought out the safety car from lap 2 to 5.
At the restart, Rattican kept a slender margin at the front, with Götz in close pursuit and the chasing pack of Schiller, Mettler, Tomáš Kell and Reicher tightly bunched. As the pit window opened on lap 15, less than ten seconds covered the top half-dozen cars.
The strategic shuffle, however, swung momentum in favour of Motopark. Révész emerged from the stops in clear air and managed the gap to Reicher-Haase’s Audi all the way to the flag, securing another crucial step in his march towards the title.
